A rock in the forest .........................

This house, named Casa No Gere, was designed by a collaboration of portuguese architect Graça Correia and Italian architect Roberto Ragazzi, is set in Portugals only national park.
Obviously, planning regulations were restrictive, but this only served to produce a creative response.
It's constructed entirely from concrete, which will weather, stain and age over time. Not a single tree (at the request of the clients) was cut down to allow the construction.

A beautifully crisp, sober, simple human form, sitting with humility within natural grandeur.
